JUNTA ORGANIZADORA DEL CIPO RFM FOR JUSTICE, AGAINST REPRESSION TO THE PEOPLE OF GOOD HEART ACROSS THE WORLD Solidarity with others is our self-protection Praxedis G Guerrero, Punto Rojos, 1907 The members of the Popular Indigenous Council of Oaxaca - "Ricardo Flores Magon" (CIPO-RFM), children, young people and old that fight for life and against the power since our communities by the coast, we have returned to denounce the repressive policies of the Municipal President of Santa Cruz de Huatulco, Jose Efigenio Martinez. Now he and other politicians are arriving to visit us to persuade to betray ourselves. First they offer us housing lots, money, stocks of food, packets of cement etc on the condition that we leave CIPO-RFM. If we do not heed this, they threaten us with death, physically attack us and imprison us. The governors are wrong if they think that we are going to sell our dignity. No kidnappings, imprisonments, sackings or torture will make us abandon CIPO-RFM because we have seen that the authorities are scared of honest organisations like ours that defend the rights of all people. There is also repression in Puerto Escondido and the rights of taxi drivers that are being refused concessions that they are legally entitled to, are being violated, all in order to benefit a group of rich businessmen that already have 2,3 or even more taxi, bus and minibus concessions. Here Aurora Lopez Acevedo is trying strengthen her domination of provisions transportation, leaving without work and therefore without food the workers and their families. Is it right that concessions are given to those that have no rights? Is it right to leave the workers families without food when those workers have given 10 years as taxi drivers that have just benefited a handful of rich people? Is it right that the workers lose their jobs because they belong to an honest organisation that fights for the poor? Additionally, the municipal authorities that work for the benefit of their people are harassed and attacked, such as the case in Tututepec. The Municipal President of Tututepec is an honest man and so the PRI Governor has joined with the PRD in refusing to recognise his position. Previously many organisations and communities joined together to protest on 18 July 2003 both in other regions and in the state of Oaxaca demanding: 1.- The immediate and unconditional release of Oliverio Neri and other prisoners unjustly arrested on 12 July 2003. 2.- Guarantees protecting the life of our companero Raul Gatica. 3.- The execution of apprehension orders against the paramilitary groups operating in Oaxaca. 4.- The dismissal of Sergio Santibanez Franco, Erick Heras Velasquez, Jose Manuel Vera and Juan Carlos Ramirez Pacheco for planning, organising and carrying out the repression of social organisations, indigenous communities, students and all those that are different. 5.- The solution of the agrarian conflicts in San Isidro Aloapan and San Pedro Yosotato. 6.- Housing lots in Santa Cruz Huatulco. 7.- The delivery of concessions for taxis and buses in Huatulco, Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca and the Sierra Norte. 8.- A solution to the municipal conflicts in Tututepec, San Isidro Aloapan, Yaviche, Plan de Zaragoza and Vista Hermosa. 9.- The solution to the social demands of our communities for health, housing, education, roadways, production projects and communications. 10.- Means of communication for the communities. We invite all poor people that are confused by the political parties to come and talk with us so that we can achieve that which we deserve: RESPECT, EDUCATION, HEALTH CARE, EMPLOYMENT, LAND, and FREEDOM. To those who wish to fight for justice with CIPO-RFM, they will be welcome in the house of our organisation in Huatulco (address: Manaza 6, Lote 6, Sector U-2B) and in Puerto Escondido (Tel 58-22929) Organisational Board of CIPO-RFM |
