hi everybody,

i am Marco from Italy. reading pynchon in italian is much more easy than
english - for me - but i loose - among many things - the spirit and the
real meaning of pynchon's songs. so, my question is : what are, in your
opinions, the main attributes of the "pynchonian" songs ? what are the
differences comparing with usual songwriters ? and, what kind of melody/
arrangement do you think would be the best for them ?
i play in a band and our main character is to play live old '50/'60 american
tv themes. i want to introduce in our gigs some pynchon's songs ( adding
music and melody, where not explicitly suggested by the writer, to pynchon's
lyrics ), and i would like to have any kind of advice. any kind of idea
will be gratefully appreciated, ideas about sounds, instruments, arragements,
rhythms ...
if my band and i will be able to realize some, i'll send you the tape :-)

thanking a lot in advance.
