TADS, as best I recall, is an authoring system for creating adventure-style
fictions: narratives that unfold as you explore and manipulate a virtual
space. A friend and former student of mine, Ron Hale-Evans, has been
working with this system. He's evans at binah.cc.brandeis.edu. He can tell
	you more.

Stuart is right about TADS or at least about its origins; it is an
authoring system primarily designed for creating Infocom-style
games/interactive fictions. But as Jorn Barger's message implied,
adventure-game authors and fans have been talking for some time about
moving beyond the constraints of puzzle-solving prose, into something
more hyperfiction-like. The Usenet group rec.arts.int-fiction is one
home of such folks; the group is specifically for those who want to
write games/fictions using systems like TADS.
