Well, having a passing thought about correspondence being taken for
a full blooded defense of Farina's canonicity was an interesting experience.
Not particularly wanting to even begin a string on boy scout knots
and GR and lacking any faith whatsoever in regard to whether Farina
deserves to be on the same shelf as Ruggles I just thought I'd mention
something I came across in a boo on '68.
Apparently TRP in Jan '68 was included on a list of prominent people
who refused to pay their 10% War surcharge tax and thus risked up to
a year in prison (fairly unlikely) or a ten grand fine. The list also
included Mr Spock himself, Susan Sontag and a whole heap of others...
Has anyone heard about this?

p.s. regarding the book on gnosticism... (By Katherine Hume I think)
The biggest problem with that, I feel is the rather dubious assumption
that GR is a gnostic text. GR is used as a source of esoteric knowledge
by the critic, rather than what I think is more feasible, that GR
parodies, plays with the gnostic experience of characters... That old
"Ouspenskian nonsense".
