Several of you mentioned Steve Erickson, namely "Arc d'X" earlier this
summer. I've read three of his now and am into Arc d'X. This is somebody
who's writing things unlike most other novels. That makes him like Pynchon in
his unique style, but not necessariliy like Pynchon in his depth. LIke
Pynchon, characters seem to go in circles, time/plot is not linear.

Anyway. The novel Tours of the Black Clock is really something worth reading.
But as someone suggested, it helps to read him in order: Days Between
Stations, Rubicon Beach, Tours, Arc d'X. I think there's another in there:
Leap Year, but I haven't found it. All are out of print. But I managed to dig
them up in a couple of public libraries.
