Headline on front page of Business Section in Kansas City Star today, August
10, 1995: "Their Shares Are Stained In Blood."
Referring to IGFarben, Associated Press story out of Frankfurt Germany.
Seems annual meeting held Wednesday featured verbal brawls between managers
and protesters. Refers to IGFarben's manufacture of gas, break-up in 1953 to
form Hoechst, BASF, Bayer and others. Check your paper for more. It would be
interesting to see if it makes many newspapers. It might make KC's, because
Bayer and perhaps Hoechst are now part of the KC skyline, due to mergers and
acquisitions involving local chemical/pharmaceutical companies.
