Thanks to Eric Alan Weinstein for his eloquent post about the moral effects
of the Bomb.  That, alas, may be the point of the discussion here recently.
Every time you up the ante of destruction, the initial reaction is of horror
or at least a resigned necessity.  We've gone from end-of-the-world 1950s
SF to the black comedy of DR. STRANGELOVE to Schwarzenegger and Curtis
embracing in the bomb's glow in TRUE LIES.

Alfred Nobel thought that dynamite would be so horrible that it would put an
end to war.

Yeah, right.
