Well Mr. Dinn, in your zeal to attack me you seem to have forgotten that
"Susan Danewitz's fine prose" was in response to my original post. Try
reading a little more thoroughly. Furthermore, I think Susan is quite
capable of responding for herself, don't you? My short reply, which seems
to have inflamed you so much, was meant as a complement to Susan's rather
original riff on commments of mine, which she quoted. Really, the activity
which seems to have riled you so much was between her and me. Admittedly,
it was shared with the rest of the list. Apparently, you were not amused.
That's fine, you are entitled to your opinions and your allegiances. But
given the postings of many others which have been even more unrelated to a
strictly pynchonian discussion, about which you have not uttered a word, I
find your rationalizations for being rude, a little lame.

>From your most recent comments and from some posts further back, directed
at me, it's pretty clear I've pissed you off somewhere along the line. But
It's really not necessary to refer to me as "bub" or the reading of my
posts as "paddling through crap," even if that is how you feel. Many others
have let me know that they have gotten a kick out of at least some of what
I've posted.

And as for asking for Jody's imprimatur...

[PS Jody, if I am treading on your toes here please accept my apologies.
If I have trodden on Mr Porter's toes I am happy to resolve the problem
*via email*.]

..In your apparent attempt to be this list's self-appointed policeman you
have further revealed the personal nature of your attacks on me, as well as
an inability to pay attention to "what's going on." On 8/10/95, Jody posted
this: "During the nest (sic) 3 weeks while I will be away... admistrative
problems may get dealt with spottily or not at all."

Daddy, it seems, is away.

Finally, while I find some of your posts to be self-righteous and
opinionated, there are others which, in my humble opinion, are quite
interesting and erudite. Clearly we have different styles, but I have no
desire to be always right. I am much more interested in having fun, and
enjoying the many different types of people who find their way here. If you
find my creativity distasteful, ignore it.
If I have hurt your feelings somehow, let me know privately, and perhaps we
can work it out.

Some of my best friends are vegetarians.
