"The Letters of Wanda Tinasky to the AVA"

Hi all,

Acting on a tip from a correspondent at a local radio station, I
ventured to send $5 to the Anderson Valley Advertiser for a "preview
edition" of "The Letters of Wanda Tinasky to the AVA."

The information in the packet is fascinating, including the letter from
Fred Gardner of the Anderson Valley Advertiser noting that "In a
statement sent to us by his agent in mid-June, Thomas Pynchon disclaimed
authorship of the Wanda Tinkasy [sic] letters."

Unfortunately, the layout of this "preview edition" is appallingly,
almost unreadably bad. I had hopes that the book itself would be
better, but having looked at the ordering information, I'm no longer
sure. Sigh. Well, no one ever said that truth and enlightenment were
pretty. :-)
