traven on the set

The B.Traven on the Sierra Madre set comes from a biography of the man,
written by a german researcher and translated into english circa 1991. i no
longer have my copy of this book, but i will dig around and see if I can pin
down the author/full title of it, plus other info.

seeing as my memory of this artifact is so weak, you have every reason to
mistrust my memory of the anecdote.  and yet it remains clear in my mind.
