About this language thing: suddenly remembered my involuntary chuckle at
Katje's first appearance in GR.
'Katje' in Dutch being equivalent to 'little cat'.
The correct Dutch form, however, would be 'Katja'. I've never actually
heard the name 'Katje' applied to a person of either sex, unless used in a
derogatory sense.
But of course I may be overlooking someone. Anyone this side of the pool
know a girl name of Katje?
If not, I conjecture: TRP may have heard the name Katja pronounced (as
'Khat-yaar') by a Netherfellow, and subsequently writ it down as Katje
('Khat-yer'). (Hope these renderings are meaningful to you amerenglish
folks. Perhaps I should say 'Cot-yaar'?)
