I'll pass on english isles mildly encouraged as I am by the small `e'
(although in passing I'll note that the Germanic routes to Scottish
[and even Northern] English are even now the least overgrown with
native flora). Pass, that is, unless you also include America (del
Norte) as one of those islands of English. In which case I will add
that your trade route is the seed of Pynchon's language and subject
matter.  And it's a two way street. You get von Braun and the ICBM, we
get USAF bases and cable TV.
