pynchon-l archive on NetNews

Pynchophiles,



We now have a current pynchon-l archive piping our postings to a
newsgroup called sfu.archive.pynchon.  This should be the first
message in the newsgroup.  At present we have it set up to keep
messages for one year.  If (as I suspect it might) this becomes
unwieldy, we may have to shorten the period.  Hmmmm, what shape would
a short period be--a vertical ellipse I guess?  Is that made up of
joined parabolas?  Forgive me, I've been htmling all day and I'm a
little elated and punchy.  Hell, I'm even staying at work late!!!!
Oooops, now you all know part of my secret--not only is this a labour
of love, but I get paid for it--not well mind you.

Anyhow, back to seminormal for a second.  Those of you with NetNews
access might have to get your administrators to subscribe--I'm not
sure of the technical/administrative details here.  

The group is world-readable.  The next step will be to link set up the
older archives here which will lighten the traffic on the other sites.
