Pynchon letters and AVA?

My mate Alexander Cockburn is writing the introduction to this Tinasky book.
Yes, Alex did live in Aptos til about 1989, in a very strange motel, during
the late Bush presidency. And he now lives in Petrolia, on the lost coast,
in, yes, Humboldt County. Its all in his new book The Golden Age is In Us.
(Cockburn could hand ole Mister Burgess his ass, too).
And that's not all.
Cockburn's old (now dead) buddy Andy Kopkind (former political editor at the
Nation, where Cockburn makes his living writing the Beat the Devil column)
went to school w/ Mr. P @ Cornell.
Verso press has recently published a collection of Andy's essays (great stuff
on the history of the Weather Underground, SDS, the rise of the gay movt.,
rock and roll, drugs, you name it) called The Thirty Years War. Kopkind
mentions a prof @ Cornell who was very devoted to Herr Wittgenstein. Hum.
And whaddya mean what the hell's the AVA...why...its the best damn rural
newspaper with a circulation of less than 2,000 in the West. And besides
they print my essays every month. Be careful though, these guys love
Pynchon, but they wear blue collars...none of that chaos theory bizness in
these hallowed pages.
bye for now.
