All of the work of Pynchon is marked by the description of a underground system
that transcends the real world. In a preceding article, I had said that the real
world, the one that is given to be seen, and the underground world could not be
conceived one without the other.
Pynchon described with humor (but also with precision) systems of the
institutional violence. It would appear indeed that there is, according to
Pynchon, an institutional form of terrorism, a terrorism directed by a state, an
administration, but in our western countries, we wouldn't say terrorism but
State reason.
In the same way, we said totalitarianism for eastern countries.
Words have more than one sense : the fall of all ideals, of all the great ideas
and of all the great beliefs uses the word and renders it more polysemic. The
politically correct have found its roots in that post-modern fall.
