dialect/film

I'm doing work in a graduate seminar on TP's uses of dialect, and having
a surprisingly hard time finding previous work on the subject. Any
suggestions? I'm trying to test how closely TP matches well-studied
dialects (e. g. Chicano English), and hope to suggest that what we get
in, say, GR and Vnlnd, is in fact closer to what we hear in film than
what is spoken in "real life." Which is to say, that by making Vato and
Blood talk less like Chicano Americans and more like Cheech and Chong,
TP produces a level of mediation equivalent to that produced by, say,
Plasticman. Frinstance, Takeshi can only speak as though his dialogue
is -- dubbed in! A-and Roszavolgyi sounds just like that Drahcoola.
