TP dialect

Two things which you are probably aware of, forgive the statement of the
obvious, but in case you don't.

Much of what _Vineland_ is about seems to be the Tube. With this in mind, it
seems appropriate that dialects be taken from the Tube and movies. Much of
the story and characters is right out of comics and saturday afternoon
movies. 
This of course is not to say the dialects are "unrealistic" to use a loaded
term, but that perhaps P. is showing the source of our language in the
ninetees--that is people mimic the Tube dialect more than the Tube mimics
"real" dialects.

Second, the place to look for dialects is linguistics departmenst etc.--and
that there exists Corpora of dialects and word use on CD-ROMS and such,
making it fairly easy to see if phrases Vato & co. use are used by actual
speakers.
