Hi everybody,
new to the list and already all exicted to find people with a similar
interest in TP. I am currently gathering info on TP´s work.
My thesis deals with the analog/ digital themes in Pynchons work. I do
believe that Pynchon has always been heavily interested in communication
and the digital data transfer. (e.g. postal service or the calculation of a
can flying into a mirror in 'CoL 49', Prairie reconstructing her mother´s
past with the help of computers, scanner cards, computers bouncing
government checks and the Punchotron machine in 'Vineland')
So far I am thinking of using Entropy as a start for this topic, the
Entropy or chaos theory described in this can be related to communication
models as well.
Is there anyone out there who would like to share his/her thoughts about
these pieces of work with me?
Boris
