Hogan Slothrop in the "Secret Integration" is the son of Tyrone's brother
mentioned in GR, so he doesn't recur anachronistically as much as
genealogically.

As to recurring characters studied in print.  I don't know of any work
devoted to the subject specifically, though many have mentioned recurrences.
The upcoming Pynchon Notes Index issue should help all searchers of recurring
characters to find them.

One to add to the growing list: Rachel in V.--is she the Rachel on the phone
in "Mercy and Morality in Venice"?
