Another TP reference on the John Laroquette Show

Sorry if this is redundant info, but I feel it's worth mentioning. I was 
channel-surfing and happened to come upon the JL Show this evening.  I'm 
well aware of the previous Pynchon/Roky Erikson reference on the show, but 
have only watched it one other time.  In tonight's episode, John's 
daughter (named Rachel--you may see where this is going), a Dead Head, 
appears in "Playpen" magazine topless.  John freaks out, his daughter 
shows up, funny stuff follows.  What caught me utterly by surprise was 
that near the end of the show, JL calls his daughter Rachel OWLGLASS 
(apparently she'd changed her last name).  She responds that she's changed 
her name back to Rachel Hemmingway.  There is a mention of "Papa" 
Hemmingway, so I think the reference to literature/authors is 
unmistakeable.  Rachel was played by Mayim Balik (NBC's Blossom, probably 
mauled the spelling of her name).  Anyone out there more familiar with 
this show?  Has Rachel appeared before?  If so, was this obviously 
Pynchonian reference made before?  Any other Pynchon references on the JL 
Show?  Think I'll be following the JL Show a bit more closely from now 
on....
