Please forgive my curt message last night.  I was too tired to address 
your question and, frankly, a bit frustrated.  Like a first-year writer 
(or some I have known) "I know what I meant to say. . ."  You finish the 
sentence.

I probably shouldn't have thrown my ideas out here without considering 
the fact that I'd probably have to explicate them.  I'll be glad to 
address this later today.  I have errands to run this morning and need to 
put in a couple of hours with Karen Burke LeFevre's _Invention as Social 
Act_ ( appropriately enough) so I can claim to've done some work that may 
have more immediate material effects.
