That's `quod erat demonstrandum'. Quoad means literally something like
`unto which'.

I think e.g. Vineland or The Crying of lot 49 are far more suggestive
in their naming. Is the Virgin Prairie really still a virgin or has
old Isaiah II 4 beaten his sword into a ploughshare and seen to that
particular furrow. And where exactly is the American Prairie supposed
to fit into a novel on Vineland the Bountiful, garden of America?
Especially when we have some kind of Dis/Persephone myth going on here
- all that blond hair and then Brock being dragged back to the
underground in his chariot c/o Vato Blood (where do I get this image
of Chip 'N Dale zipping along a disappearing line of carrots, a
yawning crevasse trailing in their wake). Naaah, it's all just too
paranoid to be taken seriously.
