I don't know--I didn't get that much out of it when I read it. The author
committed suicide and his mother had the book published, which I think had
a lot more to do with its popularity than any real riotous sense of humor,
as it's supposed to have. but then, there are others who swear by it. At
least it's one comic novel I got all the way through.
