Pynchon/Dickens

I don't know if this is way too wigged out, or way too obvious, but 
I'll hazard it...I'm 
doing my grad. essay on GR as a neo-Gothic (which is why I asked about 
that Luddite thing, back some ), so I can see a connection btw Dickens 
and Pynchon 
along the lines of their views of technology ("Satanic Mills" and all).  
Both of them have that ambivalence about it (even though some stereotype 
Dickens as some Wobbly champion of industrial workers' rights, when he 
doesn't 
really focus on them except in HT, but that's another digression...)
