Saw a picture of Sousixie from Siuoxsie and the Banshees in her gothic 
garb superimposed upon the infamous Metropolis pose-reminded me of the 
comment way back when quoted from GR about Greta Erdmann?
thought John Belushi would be a good Major Marvey (did someone use that 
one already?) or maybe Slothrop

to Cal:  Do you think Mr. Chabon actually tried to write a Wonder Boys 
novel and said fuck it I ain't no Pynchon-I'll write a book about writing 
a masterpiece.  I was tempted to e-mail him as his address is on the book 
jacket-Maybe Mr. P's will be on his next-wouldn't that blow one's mind.
