Greenaway might not be bad, but he seems so English both in his 
proprieties and his brutalities. No matter how radical he sets out to be 
(and he often <is>), English notions of class keep creeping into the 
work, viz. the characterization of Michael Gambon in The Cook, The Thief, 
et. al. But I could see the multiscreen technique of Prospero's Books 
working for GR, if it weren't for the fact that those superpositions only 
come across on the big screen, which would militate against the eminently 
sensible idea of TV serialization. OY!!
