   Are we so deeply involved in inner meanings that we can't be pleased
because some asshole (MM) gets his just reward? Let us not forget that TRP 
might have a sense of humor. This is, after all, the man who spent about 15 
pages setting up one of the worst (best) puns ever published.

PS. John (?) Peacock is TRP's editor that used to be at Little Brown and 
went to Holt. Along with TRP, there is Steve Erickson and Michael Ventura. 
Metropolitan Books is the imprint. There is a connection to Melanie Jackson. 
I also heard that Holt's bean counters are a bit upset because when he was 
lured from LB he said he needed a ton of money for the TRP manuscript, 
payable on delivery. They haven't yet received it, but still have to keep a 
ton of money around in case the manuscript shows up.
                Who Knows?
