Trainspotting

Perhaps this was already mentioned [I couldn't find a mention in my lazy
perusal of messages from the list], but I recall a scene from
_Trainspotting_ near the beginning in which the "main" character dives into
a toilet and has a bit of an underwater adventure.  I think he's in search
of dropped heroin.

There is a scene almost identical to this in Gravity's Rainbow, is there
not?  One in which Slothrop is ill, bowing to the toilet, and imagines
himself diving right in, travelling down the pipes, etc.  I couldn't help
but giggle as the movie's character's body was swallowed by the porcelaine,
thinking the authors must have been TRP readers.  Either that, or a
paranoia-inducing coincidence.
