The NY Press touts itself as a libertarian rag, and since it publishes a
weekly column by my pal Alex Cockburn it has a certain Foucault-like flavor
to it.
The VV is in a tailspin. New editor wants everything to be NY-based. Even
Hentoff and Ridgeway are supposed to write stories that have a NY-lead.
Stupid.
Then there is the NY Observer, which has printed lots of Pynchon articles,
including Chuck Hollander's brillant explication of the Tinasky letters,
Rosenbaum, and others.

Killer (African) bees probably won't make it much further than Texas, New
Mexico, and Arizona. Limited by climatological factors. Frankly, I'm glad
they chose Texan to invade. Couldn't think of a better place.
