Don asked: "Is that the same operation detailed in the book (and later
film) A BRIDGE TOO

FAR?"

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yup. A Bridge Too Far, that star-studded, cigar-chompin wreck, blud fest
of 3 1/2 hours. Good ole Corny Ryan-loved his books when I was wee-pant
wetting lad. I used to know all the code names for operations,((all OKW
(don't ask me the full German) codes were colors: blue, white, yellow
which I beleive represented Norway, the Low Countries, and France--god
knows why I remember this-ask me the name of the four Japanese carriers
sunk at Midway)).  fwiw, my favorite wwii movies:  Battleground (1950);
The Young Lions (1960?); 12 O'Clock High (1950 something); Das Boat
(1981?); Soldier of Orange (1970 something).

would be prime outlaw material for NBC movies of the week)
