Am just about reading through the above closely. Though I have read the
introduction probably a dozen times, I never bothered to read all the
stories. I had a hot copy of "Entropy" back in college and that was enough.
Now I find, with attention, that my interest in these stories is inversely
proportionate, really, to what TP says about them. Admittedly, the first is a
disaster, but I actually thought "Low-lands" and "Entropy" interesting and
definitely by the same guy who wrote V. and LOT 49. "Under the Rose,"
meanwhile had some of the bleached quality of some of the most mannered stuff
in G.R. It's all about doing the landscape and less about states of
psychology. But then I really LOVE Lot 49, and TP all but writes it off in
the introduction.
