Not too sure, but the sun is, of course, central not just in many 
mythologies, but also features prominently in TRP's fiction. And then, 
of course, the sun is what prevents earth from being a closed system, 
thus throwing a spike into ubiquitous entropy and making life 
possible (more or less).
