Kubrick??!!

Gah!  Well, his stuff might have looked cool way back when, but
most of it seems to me to have just surface appeal.  _2001_ I
find boring and simplistic (to put it cordially), _Lolita_ is a
disaster, _Strangelove_ is ruined by peter Sellers, who can never
avoid totally overacting.  The only satisfying Kubrick for me is
_Full Metal Jacket_, and even that raises more questions than it
explores.  i agree with you that its strength is its
investigation of the decay of language.

You might want to take another look at _Blow-Up_...he also has a
ltraer movie called _The Passenger_ which is a change-of-identity
riff starrign Jack Nicholson of all people.  It's good, but
nowhere near _Blow Up_.
