Sixties/Oldies

Just another ingedient in the soup...

I've a 10-yr-old son who has free range of the radio dial, able to choose
the music he wants to listen to. His choice is the local "oldies"
station in London. He can listen to contemporary pop, but prefers to
listen to music from the 50/60s. As 50s rock didn't appeal to me then
(nor, particularly, now) I have to assume that there's something
intrinsic in either the music or his blend of genetic material that are
wildly attractive. His attitude toward music of the 70s and 80s is
unprintable. Where he learned _that_ vocabularly is a matter of deep
discussion around the house.
