Holger Czukay, perhaps - like Pynchon, another pre-sixties passenger
who coolly and carefully hitched his way through into the nineties.

TRP would play ukelele and keyboards while Holger would stick to
French Horn, sampling and rendering. Throw in Jaki Liebezeit on rhythm
programming (yeah, he can also let rip with one of his dyspeptic
trumpet solos), Jah Wobble on trippy vocals and bass (pass it through
a frequency divider and a 17" bass bin to hit those low notes where
your belly vibrates in sympathy). Maybe get Tricky or David Holmes
on the mix.
