Jest and Pynchon

Upon reaching p. 87 of _Infinite Jest_, and suddenly
it's Walpurgisnacht in the YEAR OF THE DEPEND ADULT UNDERGARMENT and 
a "couple" is on a mountainside making those Brockengespenst shadows
and querying each other over a deep mystery that obviously is going to be
a big point in the book. This time:

it's not in the Zone, but in unspooky old Tuscon;

instead of beauteous Geli, it's a guy in drag;

instead of the s-gerat, the quest is for the eponymous
entertainment cartridge _Infinite Jest_.

A really nice tribute to TRP, I thought.

No "real people" have appeared yet that one would notice.
