And I add a small thought on cultural (or social) norms:

Of course you did not intend to 'portray' the fictitious TRP as a 'yuppie
twerp',
your perspective on wine being what it is. On the other hand, it is
doubtful if ol' Tom
(being 'Murrican and all) regards wine as prole and beer as upscale.
All of this is moot of course...we can invent him to be whoever.
I like both pictures in fact.

I look at the marks he leaves behind and figure his libation of choice
oughta be
something like a banana smoothie spiked with 200 proof grain alcohol.
