[Adam J. Thornton]

Adam is a graduate student in the history of science at Princeton
University in the swamps of Central New Jersey.

He studies the history of computing in particular.

His hobbies include drinking, drinking, obsessively re-reading _GR_, and
drinking.

He is 24, with long, brown, thinning hair and an ever-growing desire to
take a pump-action 12-gauge shotgun and go hunt gators in the sewers.

He first tried to read _GR_ at 16.  It didn't work.  Then the next year, he
read _V_, was captivated, and tried _GR_ again.  This time it caught.  His
life has never been the same, fucking idiot, as he keeps putting himself in
paranoid situations.

He has a desire to get out of the Northeast to a place where there is sky,
room to breathe, a place a man can let down his hair and become a
connoisseur of silences.  He thought _IJ_ was interesting primarily as a
piece of evidence explaining why he shouldn't let his alcoholism get so far
out of hand as to necessitate joining AA.
