Down and Personal

[Paul Murphy]

Paul is a graduate student in philosophy at UToronto, studying early
20th-century German aesthetics (Heidegger, Adorno, Benjamin), dabbling in
post-structuralism, late-romanticism, pre-lapsarianist theories of
language, and gnosticism. Spends most of his waking hours seeing films
(Wenders, Bresson, Godard), attending concerts (Mahler, Mark Eitzel, David
Sylvian). Once gave a paper at a graduate conference on Heidegger, Trakl
and Pynchon. Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta (mentioned in IJ!), lives
in Toronto.
