marc issue robinson is part of the UK's structural unemployment. He seems to
recall: Liverpool to the age of 18, Jesuit grammar school, punk rock
epiphany at Eric's, then Coventry for a degree in Fine Art (performance &
conceptual), then London for The Godawful Eighties. Freelance journalism,
features, cultural, rent-a-smart-aleck stuff. Widely published, 83-87. Top
of head blown off whilst cross-reading GR with The Atrocity Exhibition &
Crash & Lasch's Minimal Self in '86. He asked for it. Jumped off the boat in
'87 (three weeks after the stock market crash, one week after the s. coast
hurricane), came to live in rural West Wales. Went a bit cosmic, studied
widely and desultorily, meditated, wrote a little, mostly poetry and mapless
dreamspace. C-space depuis 15mos: something of an *oddity* to be longterm
unemployed and netted up, to say the least. Alone here. Currently shooting
the breeze with CyberMind and Fluxus, as well as occasionally here.
Presently scouting about for funding to do an MA in HyperMedia, and
cross-reading as always: V & Amis's The Information & The Mabinogion &
Lempriere's Bloody Dictionary (about halfway through this, I'll get back to
it eventually). Whereabouts: seven miles or so out of Aberystwyth, towards
Tregaron. A difficult place to get to, wherever you start out.
rgds, marc (still working up some mythological refs for the V coach party,
and definitely paying attention)
