Quotes from Life

I looked through for those quotes from Perec's Life A User's Manual and
found:

"Gaspard Winckler is dead, but the long and meticulous, patiently laid
plot of his revenge is not finished yet".--pg. 6

"Bartlebooth found the very essence of his passion in this feeling of
being stuck: a kind of torpor, a sort of repetitious boredom, a veiled
befuddlement in search of a shapeless something whose outlines he could
barely manage to mumble in his mind...background noises to a wretched
madman's obsessive and sterile musings."-pg. 337

I find an underlying sinister-ness to much of this book which for me
parallels some of the "mirror-time" musings in V. The second quote
reminded me immediately of H. Stencil.

BTW, with you all on reading V.-amazing how strong this book gets on
every successive reading (my third)
