Hamster?

Hi folks,

A friend of mine told me that Pynchon wrote something about a Hamster... a
Ballad of a Sad Hamster...or something like that.  Anyone recognize this?  If
it's long, could you direct me to the source?  If it's a short passage, could
you email it along?
