So you noticed! The problem was that you'd sent your subscription
request to majordomo at sfu.ca - which is supposed to forward that request
to waste at waste.org, but had instead approved your request and never
sent a notice to us (the list owners). I noticed the problem when I
started getting notices of people subscribing to pynchon-l at sfu.ca.
I have contacted the administrator at sfu and the problem has been
fixed to the best of our knowledge and I have manually subscribed all
the people who'd been subscribed to the inactive list at sfu (you were
one of them).
Please remember to send all your pynchon-l requests to waste at waste.org
and submissions to pynchon-l at waste.org. And those people who mention
pynchon-l in their webpages, please update the subscription
instructions as soon as you can so that our dependence on forwarding by
sfu.ca is minimized.
Lew, if you want to read what has been posted to pynchon-l in the past
couple of months, you can get the archives from the listserver at
waste.org. Please contact me for directions. The pynchon-l archives for the
last few months at sfu.ca should soon be available on waste.org.
