>_Gravity's Rainbow_ isn't translated yet in Italy. It is possible, but
>difficult, to find a hard cover translation of _V._ and _Vineland_. I think
>that the only translation of _The Crying of Lot 49_ is out of print.

>Pynchon is little known and appreciated in Italy. I know only two people who
>read his books: me and a friend of mine whom I gave _V._ to as a present.

>The two of us are enthusiast.

'V' and CL49 first published (with excellent traslations) by Bompiani in
1968 and quickly gone into the remainder's .
CL49 reprinted in paperback by Mondadori in 1988 in a series including
also 'Jhonny Panic and the Bible of Dreams' by S. Plath and a collection
of novels by R. Wilson.
V reprinted hardbound by Rizzoli in 1992 .
Slow Lerner translated as 'Un lento apprendistato' by E/O editions in
1988 at the same time of the reprint of CL49 .
Vineland published by Rizzoli in 1991.
All of them, although critically acclaimed, didn't gain a large public ,
as it was for other contemporary american writers I love , like Coover
and Gass.

' Boy I seen punchies in my sweet time but this cookie takes the cake
God bless the laboring classes I say and preserve us from the humble
freak !'
