The term is usually used by hardened Monty Python fans to describe 
those prim and proper Englishwomen played by Terry Jones and Eric 
Idle (in particular), passim throughout the great ouevre of MP. As I 
understand it, the Pythons coined (and subsequently popularised) the 
term themselves.
