I have to confess, I'm agin it. News groups are too easy to write
thoughtless nonsense to. Looking at rec.arts.books I see far too many
people contributing far too little thought to far too many threads.
And stupid or ignorant Pynchon readers (of which my experience
suggests there are many, most of them not on the list thank goodness)
are really obnoxious. I have no intention of leaving this list for a
news group and I hope others do not do so.
