OF COURSE NOT!  THe creation of a newsgroup for discussion of Pynchon & his
works is not a measure of secession from Pynchon-L, it is an attempt to
BROADEN the discussion and offer those who enjoy "newsgrouping" the benefits
of the discussion.  There is NO CONNECTION between the mailiong list and the
newsgroup, except for the subject matter.

Why jump to such a conclusion?

Also, although there is usually senseless clutter in an unmoderated
newsgroup, it is usually avoided quite easily.
