TP's Mom...

While I sympathize with TP's loss, his loss of privacy is
extraordinarily slight. Don't get me wrong, I wish as much privacy
for anyone as they want, but let's face it: Maybe a few reporters showed
up at the funeral, maybe not. I don't picture helicopters, "bugs," or
crowds of "adoring fans" like a movie or pop star would have to endure.
It was bound to happen. Pynchon understands entropy enough to realize
that what has become a system of privacy was bound to develop holes.
"I vant to be alone" has always produced a few photographs. Surprised
it took so long.
I wonder if any heavy-duty New Yorkers would recognize the street
from that photo?
Again, and before I get burnt to a crisp: Sorry about your mom, Tom.
Hope the article didn't upset you too much.
Hope They behaved themselves and didn't intrude on the funeral.
