I agree with Wayne Loftus' comments on Roger and Jess-- this relationship is
a concatenation of cliches and has lots of parallels to
Blicero/Enzian/Katje.  It's a satire of romance and war movies, among other
things..._GR_ seems to me not to show us any one really "wholesome"
relationship, straight or gay...
