For crissakes y'all, could you find another poster-child for this
discussion of prejudice? "Diana said," "no, she said," "I agree she
said," "what Diana meant was...." Honored as I am by the exegesis, it's a
tad unnerving to see yourself referred to as a cyber-touchstone. And
whatever I DID say, I hope to clarify that being "of your time" does not
prevent one from comprehending and/or working against the evil of
invisible pre-judgments. We wouldn't have a feminist movement if Charlotte
Perkins Gilman, inter alia, didn't see the problems inherent in her
patriarchal social structure (problems built into the very language, btw).
What I bet I did say is that no one stands completely outside of
his/her (oops that nasty gendered language problem again) system, with
god-like remove and comprehension. That sounds like the Diana I know.
